Last week, our church had a really lovely and busy Teens Camp Food Sale. Even though the weather was super-hot, the atmosphere was even warmer and full of energy!
What touched me the most was seeing everyone’s selfless love.
So many brothers and sisters from different groups worked so hard for this sale. They were all busy, but they still found time to make yummy food and crafts and carried big bags of stuff back to church. What’s amazing is that many people who cooked the food end up buying it themselves too, just to support the event!
Also, many brothers and sisters stayed behind after the service to support us. A lot of them had already prepared cash beforehand. Even though they had to queue up for a long time in the hot weather, they were so patient. Sometimes, when it was their turn, the food they wanted was already sold out, but they were still happy to buy something else without any complaints. Everyone knew that the most important thing wasn’t the food, but supporting our teenagers and the Youth Ministry.
And our teens did a fantastic job!
They were so proactive and enthusiastic. Right from the start, they helped to arrange the food neatly. When the sale started, they tried their very best to welcome everyone and promote the food. Seeing them and their leaders working so hard in the heat with big smiles was really wonderful. We are all so proud of their growth and responsibility!
We might think that a youth event is only about teenagers. But this Food Sale showed us that everyone who joined in, whether buying or selling, was just as important.
It was a beautiful picture of “serving one another.” God uses these events to bring us together, so that no matter how old we are, we can bless and support each other.
To be honest, the main goal of the Food Sale was to raise money for the camp. But by the end of the day, the amount of money didn’t seem to matter that much anymore. The most precious part was seeing how much we love and care for one another. I believe this kind of love is what pleases God the most, much more than anything.
A big thank you to every single person who helped out. You made this hot summer day a beautiful blessing for all of us!
